 Comet Athletic Club Sportsmen's Raffle

The sixth annual Mayville State University Comet Athletic Club Sportsmen’s Raffle event was held Saturday evening, September 8, 2012, at the National Guard Armory in Mayville, N.D. The doors opened at 5:00 p.m., and dinner was served at 5:30 p.m. The highlight of the evening was the raffle drawing for 45 rifles and shotguns and ten handguns that were given away, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The event also included a variety of other raffles, games, and prizes.

The Comet Athletic Club Sportsmen’s Raffle is held each year to raise funds for scholarships for Mayville State’s student-athletes. Tickets for the 55-gun giveaway sell for $100 each. Only 550 tickets are sold, so there is a one-in-ten chance to win a gun. The ticket price included admission to the September 8 raffle event with a complimentary meal.

Finley Motorsports of Finley, N.D. sponsored the raffle of a 2012 Polaris 500 Ranger all-terrain vehicle. Tickets sold for $20.00 each. Consolation cash prizes were also awarded - $500, 2-$250, 5-$100.

In addition, Hunter Implement, Hunter, N.D., donated a 22-gun John Deere gun safe that was given away at the event. Numerous side raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.
