Mayville State Alumni Day Activities Planned for June 22
Cruff, McCanna, Mehus, Kemmer, Garrett, Lerfald, and Morrison to be honored
The Mayville State University Alumni Association will host its second annual Alumni Day at Mayville State University Friday, June 22, 2012. Activities planned throughout the day include an open house and tours of campus facilities, an ice cream social at Northwest Hall, an open house reception for the 2012 MSU faculty retirees, as well as the annual Alumni Association Awards Dinner and a variety show. A social for alumni and friends will wrap up the day's events. The events are being held in conjunction with Mayville-Portland’s annual Summerfest an an all-school reunion in Portland. All activities are open to the public.

Campus Tours
Alumni Day will begin with campus tours leaving from the front of Old Main at 1:00 and 2:00 p.m.
Ice Cream Social
The MSU Foundation will host an ice cream social on the lawn at Northwest Hall, Mayville State's future alumni center, from1:00 to 3:00 p.m. All are welcome to stop by and enjoy music and refreshments.
Reception to Honor MSU's 2012 Faculty Retirees
An open house reception honoring Mayville State’s 2012 faculty retirees, Dr. Nannette Bagstad, Terry Kemmer, Darryl Gulbranson, and Pete Young, will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The reception will be held in the lounge area on the upper level of Mayville State’s Campus Center. (Please note the change in location.) The reception is being sponsored by Mayville State alumni of Pembina County/Hoople, in honor of the group’s 20th anniversary. Polar Communications is also helping to sponsor the event, in honor of their 10th anniversary in Mayville-Portland.
Alumni Association Awards Dinner
The traditional Mayville State University Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service Awards will be presented at the Alumni Association Awards Dinner. This event has previously been held during Mayville State’s annual homecoming festivities. The change in date was made to accommodate the establishment of the MSU Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame and awards program that is now held during homecoming festivities. Plans are to continue to hold the Alumni Association’s annual awards dinner in conjunction with Mayville-Portland’s Summerfest.
Honorees at the Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service Awards Dinner will be 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients and Mayville State graduates Dawn Cruff, West Fargo, N.D.; Jeff McCanna, Spring, Texas; and James Mehus, Mayville, N.D. Distinguished Service Awards will be presented to Terry Kemmer, Tim Garrett, and Kelly Morrison, all of Mayville, and Neil Lerfald, Portland, N.D.
The Alumni Association Awards Dinner will be held in the MSU Campus Center Luckasen Room, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22. A time of socializing in the MSU Campus Center Foyer will precede the dinner. Socializing begins at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Tickets for the dinner are $20 per person and are on sale at the office of the MSU Foundation. RSVP deadline is June 12. Variety Show
A variety show will follow the awards dinner. It will be held in the MSU Classroom Building Auditorium, beginning at 8:00 p.m. MSU Director of Development John Klocke will emcee the show. Performers include Triplicity, the cast of "Beehive," Harry Lipsiea, Cassie Thuen, Mike Bakken, and more. The show is open to the public free of charge. Donations will be accepted for the music department at Mayville State.
Alumni & Friends Social
Mayville State’s 2012 Alumni Day will wind up with a social for all Mayville State alumni and friends at the Top Hat in downtown Mayville, beginning at 9:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome!
